Embodying the Warrioress
I love teaching about the Warrioress. She is an archetype that brings women a sense of wildness, fearlessness and strength. This week I am preparing for my Women’s Retreat on the Warrioress so I have been thinking about how she helps women embody their natural strengths, gifts and talents. The above image of the Warrioress came to me a few years ago. She is strong, solid and grounded, with wild feathers and shells. When I teach the Tree of Life model as a way of personal transformation I often ask people to identify where they need healing. Most people quickly identify problems with the root system in their lives.
They feel disconnected from their body, physically drained and stressed, and they feel disconnected from family and community. This is a natural response, especially for those of us raised in Western culture, because the roots are typically undervalued and underemphasized.
